Junior Premium
Livestock Auction

What’s a Junior Premium Livestock Auction?

The Washington County Fair gives youth the opportunity to learn, exhibit, and compete with their 4-H or FFA-sponsored livestock projects. All projects are carefully judged in their categories, and the top projects advance to the Junior Premium Livestock Auction.

Businesses and individuals who support agricultural education in Washington County are invited to “purchase” these animals. Participating students keep their animals to continue competing in state and regional fairs, while funds raised through the auction help them cover expenses for raising the animal or future livestock projects. All projects are supervised by an FFA Advisor or 4-H Club Leader.

Why Your Support Matters

  • Over 100 livestock exhibitors present their projects in the sale ring.

  • Many children would not be able to participate without auction support.

  • Every contribution counts! You can even add to an exhibitor’s total—every dollar helps.
